    There are two places in the Portland area for a real, genuine Italian sandwich. Amato's and DiPietro's. Everybody else is trying to catch up. Then there are the "sub shop" places that don't even try to make a real Maine Italian sandwich. A "submarine sandwich" is NOT an Italian sandwich.

    The pizza and other stuff isn't bad either.
